Schengen Visa Rejection Rates Hit 45% for Pakistani Applicants in 2025
Annual statistics from EU Schengen countries reveal that Pakistani passport holders faced a rejection rate of 45% in 2025, compared to 38% in 2023. The countries with highest rejection rates for Pakistani applicants were France (52%), Germany (48%), and Netherlands (50%).
Experts attribute the increase to stricter financial verification, increased scrutiny of bank statements, and higher instances of documentation fraud being detected.
"The most common reason for rejection remains insufficient financial proof and lack of ties to Pakistan," said a spokesperson from the VFS Global Pakistan office.
Visa consultants recommend strengthening financial profiles over 6 months, building travel history, and ensuring all documentation is authentic and consistent.
