The latest Henley Passport Index places Pakistan at #98 globally, with access to 32 countries visa-free. Experts share strategies for Pakistani travelers to maximize travel opportunities.

The 2026 Henley Passport Index has placed Pakistan at position #98 globally, with its passport providing visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 32 countries. This represents an improvement of 2 positions from 2025, primarily due to new visa-free agreements with Pacific island nations.

Japan continues to hold the #1 position with access to 193 countries, followed by Singapore, France, Germany, and Italy.

Pakistan's passport provides stronger access to: Muslim-majority countries which offer more favorable visa policies, South Asian neighbors, and certain African nations.

Visa experts recommend Pakistani travelers build their passport strength through: accumulating stamps from UK, Schengen, and US visas, maintaining a clean immigration record, and exploring visa-free destinations in Africa and the Pacific.

The ranking has not changed dramatically in recent years, but Pakistan has been working diplomatically to negotiate more visa-free agreements with various nations.
